چکیده
Abstract Objective Bonding to different dentin substrates influences resin composite restoration outcomes. This study investigated the influence of adhesion protocols on shear bond strength universal adhesive systems sound and artificial caries-affected (CAD). Materials Methods Occlusal enamel 80 premolars were wet grinded obtain flat midcoronal dentin. Specimens equally divided according substrate condition: CAD by subjecting pH-cycling for 14 days. Each was bonded with used in this study: Single Bond or Prime&Bond (applied either etch-and-rinse self-etch protocol). Adhesive utilized manufacturers’ instructions, then built up. tested strength. The data analyzed three-way analysis variance, failure modes determined using stereomicroscope. Results There no statistically significant difference between two artificially created protocols. On dentin, universal, protocols, revealed higher mean values compared CAD. Conclusion an protocol improved only bonding while added positive effect etching step found when both substrates. performance adhesives material-dependent.
